How do I get a quote?
Machining Design accepts all electronic file formats, including DWG, DXF, IGES, SLDPRT or you can also send a faxed drawing.
What if I don’t have a drawing?
Machining Design can reverse engineer from a sample. We can achieve this by using in-house measuring tools which include a FARO Arm CMM as well as software packages such as Design Works and SolidWorks. We can also work from a conceptual idea.
Where do you ship to?
Machining Design ships parts throughout Canada and the United States as well as into Mexico.
What quantities can you handle?
We are capable of providing from one piece to thousands of pieces.
Can you make parts in stainless steel?
Yes, we can provide parts made from stainless steel as well as brass, bronze, aluminum, plastic, hot and cold rolled steels and many other exotic materials.
Can you provide metric threads?
We can supply all types of threaded parts. Which includes: ISO Metric Threads – Unified Inch Threads – Taper Pipe Threads (NPT) – American Petroleum Institute (API) – Acme Threads – British Standard Pipe and others.
Do you have an engineer on staff?
Yes, our engineer can aid with most questions that you may have.
How do you check your parts?
We use calibrated measuring equipment. Which includes micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, thread gauges, height gauges, hardness tester, surface tester as well as a FARO Arm CMM.
What is your typical lead time?
Lead times will vary depending on shop loads.
Can you handle blanket orders?
Yes, Machining Design will happily set up blanket orders and can also handle JIT (Just in time Orders). Many of our customers utilize this service.
